Resumen

Vicente Fatone (1903-1962) permanece como una figura poco o mal conocida, si no olvidada, en el ámbito de la filosofía
argentina. Orientalista, políglota, poeta, místico, diplomático, periodista, filósofo, Fatone se destaca como uno de los pensadores más esclarecidos en los temas que abordó; revalorizarlo es casi un deber. En esta ocasión, partimos de su estudio “Leibniz y el problema religioso” para analizar su novedosa interpre-
tación del gran asunto de la creación en Leibniz. A contrapelo del canon hermenéutico que ha hecho escuela, Fatone nos revela — como veremos— “otro Leibniz” a la luz de antiguas creencias orientales, a partir de su penetrante lectura de la Teodicea.

Abstract

Vicente Fatone (1903-1962) remains a little known, if not forgotten, figure in the field of Argentinian philosophy. Orientalist, polyglot, poet, mystic, diplomat, journalist, philosopher, Fatone stands out as one of the most enlightened thinkers in the subjects he dealt with; his revalorisation is almost a duty. This time I start from his study “Leibniz y el problema religioso” in order to analyse his novel interpretation of the great question of creation in Leibniz. Contrary to the her-
meneutic canon, Fatone reveals to us —as it will be seen— “another Leibniz” in the light of ancient Eastern beliefs, based on his insightful reading of Theodicy.
