Resumen

El artículo tiene como objetivo analizar la conformación del concepto de "Naturaleza" en tres textos de Leon Battista Alberti: Della Famiglia, Della Pittura y el Theogenius. Con este propósito, el trabajo se centra en la relación entre imitación y domesticación que se presenta en estas obras, enfatizando la influencia de la recuperación de las fuentes originales del pensamiento epicúreo (a través de los textos de Diógenes Laercio y Lucrecio) en las distintas teorías deAlberti. En base a esto, se plantea que la relación entre imitación y naturaleza puede pensarse en el cruce de dos ejes: la imitación de la naturaleza como una fuerza generadora, o en su aspedo fenoménico-material exterior, elementos que también aparecen de forma similar en el problema de la imitación de los Antiguos. Por último, se señala la oposición entre el elogio de la vida contemplativa en los pensadores epicúreos originales y la herencia del humanismo civil fuertemente presente en textos como el Della Famiglia. Abstract

The purpose of this article is to analyze the formation of the concept of “Nature” in three texts of Leon Battista Alberti: Della Famiglia, Della Pittura and Theogenius. To this effect, the paper focuses on the relation between imitation and domestication, which is present in these texts, stressing the influence of the rediscovery of the Epicurean texts (through the texts of Diogenes Laercio and Lucretius) in Alberti’s theories. On this basis, it states that the relation between imitation and nature takes place in the intersection of two axes: on the one hand, the imitation of nature as a generative force and, on the other, its external phenomenical-material aspect. These two axes reappear in the imitation of the Ancients. Finally, the article points out the opposition between the praise of contemplative life in the original Epicurean thinkers and the legacy of civil humanism, which is strongly present in texts like Della Famiglia.
